The Vision

For Andrew and Kristie, the dream was simple, expand their much-loved family home without saying goodbye to the location they adore. With their kids growing older, the family needed more space, but rather than searching for a new property, they chose to invest in their home and create the room they’d been longing for.

Design Inspiration

Their inspiration was drawn from the relaxed charm of Fern Bay itself. The brief was cool coastal, and every design decision reflected that aesthetic – light, breezy, and perfectly in tune with its seaside surroundings.

Planning & Execution

With the existing block and floorplan, the only way to achieve the extra space was to build up. The new second storey was carefully designed to blend seamlessly with the existing home, so much so that you’d never guess it was an extension at all. The finished result feels as though it has always been part of the original build, maintaining the character while expanding the footprint.

Attention to Detail

Andrew and Kristie knew exactly what they wanted from the outset. Their clear vision made the process smooth from conception through to completion. Every choice – from layout to finishes – was carefully considered and aligned with the overall style, making the collaboration an absolute pleasure.

The End Result

In just 10 short weeks, their home was transformed. A stunning new upstairs living space now provides the family with the room they need to grow, while the ground floor received its own facelift. The old tiled flooring was replaced with hybrid flooring to match the new upper level, creating a cohesive flow throughout the home.

The end result? A spacious, stylish, and timeless family home that Andrew and Kristie can enjoy for many years to come , all while staying in the location they love most.
